Destiny 2 : Forsaken adds a sizeable expansion to Destiny 2 which in a brief summary instils a feel of vengeance, heroism and anger. This is mainly due to the fact the series' most beloved character, Cayde 6, was killed off in a clever marketing move to try bring players back to the series. The game-play is based around hunting the person who committed the act and bringing him to justice.

The death of Cayde hit the community hard and it was incredibly successful in creating a burning anger towards the antagonist that i haven't seen in many other games, i can't remember the last event that bonded a diverse community together in one two minute cut-scene. (The video on the right contains such scene)

So lets start with the story, the original story of Destiny 2 starts by ripping all your powers away from you setting you on a path for redemption to regain them and get revenge for the Tower (the main area from Destiny 1) and the Last city (where the last of humanity resides) being taken over and partially destroyed, upon completion of this the "Curse of Osiris" DLC which saw players head to Mercury and prevent one of the games enemy races the Vex from creating a new reality where humanity has been extinguished. This DLC, although it was very poor in its delivery, managed to create a sense of duty and heroism since with each passing mission you complete your companion, known as a Ghost, repeatedly adds pressure to the situation quoting that in the final boss fight "This is our one and only chance at this" giving the feeling the player is the only hope to save humanity itself. Next came the Warmind DLC which saw us mainly head to Mars to effectively stop a god. The campaign follows your character and their journey with a fellow Guardian called Ana Bray as you try to stop the god mentioned before from taking over Mars, upon completing the Warmind DLC you would finally be ready for Forsaken.

With Cayde's death alone it inspires a deep vengeance in many players, but when they made our character speak for the first time since the original Destiny story 4 years ago, with the powerful quote "Uldren Sov is mine" it almost sparks anger and a strong hatred towards Uldren cause not only did he kill Cayde, but now its personal, our character is involved.

So how do we go about this vengeance you may be asking, well to quote the character Petra Vej "Tear them down, every last one of them until its just Uldren left" and that is exactly what we do. After a certain mission we are given multiple adventures, which are like side missions, where were go after each of Uldrens accomplices who are known as "Barons" of the enemy Fallen race. Each of the Barons is different where in one "Hunt" you have a sniper duel with one of the Barons, another is a race that ends in a duel on vehicles. After eliminating all of the Barons you go after Uldren, which is shown to the right.

The story ends on the gunshot and almost adds a sense of whats next? Bringing up questions like has our guardian been consumed by Hatred? or even was it Petra that shot him since the noise of the gunshot almost doesn't match the gun our guardian is holding. However, there are a few negatives to Forsaken such as how most say it was just a "Cash grab" by developers Bungie since the game was slowly dying, granted the Forsaken DLC did revive the game but there will always be those who say a game is a cash grab and others who enjoy it none the less. The new area is quite large too which adds more area to explore but its very bare (i know that was the idea) and there isn't too much to do for a DLC that cost £32.

Story isn't all that was added though, a new Multiplayer mode was added called Gambit which consists of two teams of 4 competing to kill enemies to collect "motes" to deposit to score points, you can deposit different amounts of motes to spawn blocker enemies for the other team which have to be killed before they can deposit their motes. To win a team must deposit 75 motes to spawn their "primeval" which is the final boss they have to kill. If they kill it then they win. During the match a portal will open up where one player from each team can jump through and wreak havoc by killing members of the opposing team.
